Mid Murray Council is pleased to offer various funding opportunities to help develop, grow and implement a range of exciting initiatives at a local level. The purpose of the grants is to assist in the development of projects that encourage community participation and inclusivity.

Small Community Grant

Mid Murray Council’s small community grant aims to encourage and support local community groups/clubs that make a positive contribution to community and cultural life. It is offered to support and assist community-based organisations in the provision of a service to the community that will encourage participation and social inclusion.

The maximum amount available is $1,000 and applications are open in two rounds;

Round 1 closes 30 September and Round 2 closes 31 March.

Community Events Grant

Our Community Events Grant provides funding for innovative events and activities that encourage tourism, social inclusion, community participation or recreation. The purpose of the grant is to assist in the development of events that encourage community participation.

The maximum amount available is $2,000 and applications are in two rounds;

Round 1 closes 30 September and Round 2 closes 31 March.

Community Project Grant

Council’s Community Project Grant is for community groups/clubs that provide a positive contribution to the community through projects that develop and enhance their group’s facilities. The project can range from landscaping, upgrading/improving facilities and signage.

The maximum amount available is $5,000 and applications are in two rounds:

Round 1 closes 30 September and Round 2 closes 31 March.

Individual Sport & Cultural Grant

The Individual Sport & Cultural Grant provides Council with the opportunity to recognise, encourage and support individuals who reside in the Mid Murray Council region and are participating in either a sport, music, art or cultural activity/event at a State, National or International level. The purpose of this grant is to support residents who display individual talent within their field.

The grant is open all year with amounts available as follows'

  • Within South Australia   $100
  • Interstate                          $500
  • Internationally                 $1,000
