Australian Red Cross

Red Cross provides a door-to-door transport to assist you to attend non-emergency medical appointments and social outings if you have no other transport options. A Red Cross volunteer driver will collect you from your home and drive you to your appointment.

Who can access (eligibility): 

65 years and over or 50+ for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples

Require referral through My Aged Care https://www.myagedcare.gov.au

Living independently in your own home, however this does include those living independent living units such as a lifestyle village

or;

Be under the age of 65, or under  50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

Experienice transport disadvantage which means you are unable to  access public transport die to distance, mobility and/or availability of service

Mid Murray Support Services

Service Type: Volunteer driver transport - medical appointments, shopping and social

Cost: Contact MMSS for transport contributions

Hours of Operation: Office open Monday - Friday 9am – 4.30pm for bookings (minimum 7 days’ notice for transport)

Who can access(eligibility): Transport disadvantaged passengers. Clients over 65 must be registered through My Aged Care https://www.myagedcare.gov.au, referred and approved Home Care Package clients or, referred and approved NDIS participants. Other referred and approved clients.

Mannum Community Hospital Car

Cost: Mannum to Murray Bridge - $11, Mannum to Mount Barker/Stirling - $22, Mannum to Adelaide - $33

Wheelchair access: Yes - wheelchairs can be transported in car boot.

Who can access(eligibility): Transport disadvantaged passengers needing medical transport (hospital and specialist appointments, including radiotherapy, chemotherapy).

Service Areas: As per Mannum hospital coverage area. Provide transport to other clinics & hospitals.

Other Information:

  • Door to door pick up service for Mannum township residents, other residents outside of town need to meet car at the hospital.
  • Transport provided by volunteer drivers.
  • Note: Service may not always be available.
  • 1 only Community Transport Car available.
  • The Community Car will not leave Mannum prior to 7am.
