Rebate of Rates - Primary Production
A rebate of rates shall be given to a Principal Ratepayer who makes written application to the Council for a rebate and satisfies the Council that the rebate is desirable for the purpose of securing the proper development of the area or for the purpose of assisting or supporting a business in the area, provided that:-
- the relevant rateable land is used for the purposes of primary production; and
- the land is used in conjunction with other land also being used for primary production purposes; and
the amount of the rebate shall be the difference between the minimum amount payable by way of general rates and the total amount payable by way of general rates in respect of that land, or the sum of $190.00, whichever is the lesser amount.
