Our Plan 2020-24 – Have your say
Mid Murray Council is preparing a new Strategic Plan to guide the region’s development and decision-making over the next four years.
Our Plan 2020-24 will be a key instrument for the delivery of programs and services to the community and the long-term financial sustainability of Council.
Community input into the creation of the plan is vital. Council has already conducted Stage 1 of consultation on the high-level themes of the plan. Stage 2 of consultation is now open, seeking feedback on the detail of how Council will deliver the plan.
Five draft themes were developed by staff and endorsed by Council’s Elected Members. These include:
- Our Lifestyle,
- Our Business,
- Our Community,
- Our Growth; and
- Our Environment.
Focus Areas and Goals were developed within each of these areas and the community provided feedback on these during Stage 1 of public consultation.
This feedback has been used by Council staff and Elected Members to further develop the draft Our Plan 2020-24.
The latest draft of Our Plan 2020-24 now includes more details, with key activities proposed for each strategic goal. These activities are the actions Council plans to undertake to achieve each strategic goal. Draft measures have also been set to measure whether Council’s activities have been successful over time. Council has also drafted purpose and ambition statements, which will guide the work of Council and set the long-term vision for our region.

The Mid Murray community is invited to provide feedback on the proposed purpose, ambition, key activities and measures in Stage 2 of community consultation.
