Riverland Battery Power Plant

Mid Murray Council is pleased to support Lyon Solar with their proposal to develop the world’s leading Riverland Solar and Storage Project in Morgan. This project will provide vital stability to the power grid in South Australia, and ultimately more broadly across the east-coast.

The project will combine a 330-megawatt solar photovoltaic farm with additional grid-stability provided through the development of 100MW battery for four hours of storage (ie 400 MWh capacity).

The project will provide critical energy supply infrastructure that will produce enough renewable electricity each year to supply approximately 110,000 homes.

Mid Murray Council is working closely with the Lyon and Downer Groups to maximise economic potential, employment prospects and sustainable futures in our local area.

Mid Murray Council is compiling a database of locally available skills, equipment and accommodation on behalf of the Lyon and Downer Groups.

To register your interest in employment opportunities, inform us of skills or equipment that may assist in the project or local accommodation available for rent or lease, please use the online registration form.
