River Murray Flood Recovery Works

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport have advised that they will be undertaking works on Angas Valley Road, Walker Flat.

These works are part of a $60 million plan funded by the State Government to repair roads impacted by the recent River Murray floods. The project involves completing the repairs conducted to the road surface following the recent River Murray flooding. Works include pavement and shoulder repairs.

When - from Monday, 29 January 2024 for approximately four weeks.

Hours of Work - Monday to Friday, 7am - 6pm with some work possibly occurring on Saturdays. No works will be undertaken on Sundays.

Where - Angas Valley Road, Walker Flat.

How this affects residents/ratepayers?

There will be changes to traffic conditions to keep everyone safe. Traffic will be intermittently reduced to a single lane, with traffic controllers in place to control the direction of traffic. Outside of working hours, speed and lane restrictions will need to remain in place, until completion.

During the works, there may be some noise and dust from time to time, but we'll do our best to keep the disruption to a minimum. You might also notice some odours, which is normal during asphalt work.

Access to properties will be maintained throughout the works wherever possible, with advance notice provided if there is a need to restrict driveway access temporarily.

Access to the Walker Flat ferry will be unaffected by these works.

For more information, please contact the Department for Infrastructure and Transport on 1300 794 880, DIT.Engagement@sa.gov.au or visit their website at www.dit.sa.gov.au.
